The cemetery, located at Madison & State Streets in Manito, originated on October 22, 1879. The parish cemetery has been maintained by members of the parish on a volunteer basis. In 2003, a cemetery board was appointed to improve the cemetery. There have been many improvements, listed below, and we hope to continue. There are plans to add statues and other Catholic symbols of faith.
Annual clean-ups, computer database of records, and a public survey map are available. We began issuing easements and initiated the selling of monuments with proceeds going to the cemetery.
2003 - resurveyed the cemetery
2004 - new road was added, donated flag poles erected
2005 - new sign and gate at the main entrance
2006 - matching sign and gate at the second entrance, 14 new trees
2009 - installed an altar
